I did the same and got the same result. I guess it is a problem with poor 
sampling circuitry or interference from other parts of the computer (my GUS
sits right next to the video card, I did not find the time yet to experiment
with different positions). Did anybody try to build a shield of some kind to 
prevent such interference?
